Mobile Device Checkout
Your hospital is full of a myriad of different communication systems: two-way radios, overhead paging, pagers and desk phones. These systems often create even more problems. In many healthcare facilities nurses and clinicians carry a mobile handset but in order for personnel to contact one another they are forced to refer to temporary directories or sticky-notes. These lists are obviously inefficient and lead to slower patient care and clinical processes. A unified communication system is what your staff needs with a personalized mobility solution that not only extends the capability and power of the nurse’s station but also enables clinicians to spend more time with patients, improving the quality care throughout the hospital.
How It Works
|
Telserv has teamed up with Avaya to bring you this unique mobile device solution that supports your nurses and hospital staff by helping them more effectively manage and utilize nursing communications.
When your nurses start a shift, they simply “checkout” a Avaya mobile handset from a charging station, scan a barcode at the neighboring kiosk, scan a barcode on their hospital ID badge, and begin their usual routine. The handset will carry their unique identity as being active within the hospital for the duration of their shift. No longer will it be necessary to track individual phone numbers or keep messy telephone directories every shift.
As soon as staff member checks out a phone the device adopts their personal number and then gives them access to more features like voicemail, personal directories and call lists. This handset has the added benefit of integrating closely with our Asset Tracking & Management feature alerting your staff immediately to relevant code calls by easily locating them in real-time with location-aware technology. By keeping your nurses from wasting time checking multiple devices for voicemails, emails, pages, etc. your nurses will be able to spend more time taking care of patients.
As a nurse’s shift ends she simply returns the device to the charging station where it is deactivated and ready for another staff member to use. Another benefit is that if a staff member’s phone is contaminated during a shift they can easily return it for cleaning and “checkout” a new phone for the remainder of their shift.
Our Mobile Device Checkout solution effectively recreates the features of a dedicated phone for each clinicians within the hospital, helping you cut costs while also reducing inventory.
